Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an better serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet defended 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
