I will dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
